Workshop on 3/1 on Improving Communication Strategies in Neurodiverse Relationships

Hello everyone,

I am thrilled to be co-facilitating a new workshop with Greg Fuqua, LMHC.  Greg is an AANE Certified Neurodiverse Couples Counselor, Autism Specialist and was my guest co-host for Season 5 and has returned to be my co-host for Season 7 of the Neurodiverse Love podcast.  Our workshop is titled "Strategies and Tools for Increasing Healthy and Respectful Communication in Your Neurodiverse Relationship" and is for both individuals and couples.  During this fantastic workshop we will guide everyone through the information, tools and strategies that can help you communicate more effectively in your mixed neurotype relationship.

  • Are you often confused when you and your partner don't understand each other's perspectives?

  • Do you continue to fight about the same issues over and over again?

  • Have you ever wished your partner would validate you during conversations?

  • Are you exhausted after years of confusion and mixed signals while trying to communicate with your partner?

If you answered yes to one or more of the questions above then this workshop is definitely for you!  Greg identifies as autistic and is in a mixed neurotype marriage for more then 30 years, and I identify as ADHD and was in a mixed neurotype marriage for 30 years.  We both understand the importance of healthy, respectful communication in a Neurodiverse Love relationship and we have worked hard to gain a better understanding of what can improve communication in a neurodiverse relationship, so I hope you will join us for this invaluable event.

The investment to attend this workshop is ONLY $97 and you can register here:

The workshop will be held on Zoom on March 1st from 1-3pm EST, however if you’re not able to attend live, the workshop will be recorded and everyone who has registered will receive a link to the recording.

During this workshop, Greg and I will provide individuals and couples in mixed neurotype relationships with the information, tools and strategies that will help them communicate more effectively, and understand why they may be having so many challenges, connecting with their partner.

The topics addressed include:

1. Rituals of Communication

2. Healthy Communication Structures.

3. Reciprocity and Turn Taking.

4. Perspective Taking and Conflict Resolution.

In addition, I want to remind all of you about the workshop I am co-facilitating with Lida Far, M.S., LCPC, CST  titled "Strategies to Help Understand and Reduce the Dating Struggles in Neurodiverse Relationships".  This workshop is for autistic individuals and other neurodivergent folks and it will be held on Zoom on February 28th from 7-8:30pm EST.  (PLEASE NOTE: This workshop WILL NOT be recorded so you will need to attend live to participate.)  Lida is a Gottman Level 2 Trained Therapist, an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, an AANE Trained and Certified Neurodiverse Couples Therapist and was a guest on the Neurodiverse Love podcast.

During the workshop the topics we will address include:

◦ Addressing physical and sexual intimacy differences.

◦ Understanding getting and giving consent.

◦ When to take a break from dating.

Lastly, I am also co-facilitating a support group with Jodi Carlton called "Navigating Your Neurodiverse Relationship".  This is a "mixed neurotype" group for individuals, not couples.  We offer 2 groups on the first Wednesday of the month, so if interested each partner can attend at different times. The support group meetings are held at 12:30pm EST and 6:30pm EST and you can register at: https://jodicarlton.com/groups/

With gratitude,

Mona
